Unboxing Campaigns

Private Client |   2024  |  Packaging, Print Design & Copywriting

One of the things I enjoy most about branding is imagining the company behind it. For this project, I was asked to create a series of conceptual brands that could demonstrate a startup’s personalized unboxing campaigns. Each one needed its own visual identity and tone of voice, while the inserts were written to reference details like a customer’s recent purchase, birthday, or loyalty rewards.

Although the brands are fictional, I approached each one as though it already existed, thinking about the people behind it and the kind of experience they would want customers to have after receiving their purchase.

Solare Swimwear Box & Rack Card

Solare began as packaging concept before expanding to include a rack card. The kraft box texture introduced a challenge, so I was careful to choose design elements that made it look premium rather than cheap. The insert needed to include several personalization points, from the customer’s recent purchase to a product recommendation and a clear call-to-action, without feeling overly promotional.

Juliet Cosmetics Packaging Set

I imagined Juliet as a cosmetics brand aimed at a younger audience, largely because of the shape of the bottles I was given to work with. That led me towards a softer Y2K-inspired aesthetic, with pastel gradients and subtly whimsical typography. Each kit has its own fairy tale theme and colour palette, but I wanted them to feel like different products from the same company rather than two completely separate ideas.

Bronzd Tanning Salon Rack Card

This rack card was designed to encourage customers to join the salon’s rewards program through a personalized offer linked to their recent purchase. Because several pieces of information needed to compete for attention, I relied on a simple hierarchy and generous spacing to guide the eye while keeping the overall feel clean and luxurious.

Ananda Wellness Box

This box was designed for a yoga brand. The natural cardboard already brought warmth and texture to the packaging, so I kept everything else deliberately understated. The subtle mandala illustration provides an energizing pop of colour that also gives the brand’s wordmark enough contrast to stand out.

Paper Elephant Clothing Handwritten Card

This project combined copywriting with layout design. The insert was written as a note from the company’s founder, referencing the customer’s birthday and a recent purchase before introducing a personalized rewards offer. My goal was to make the message feel personal enough that it wouldn’t be mistaken for a mass-produced piece of marketing.
